Foundation of Association:


The need for formation of an Association of Coaching Classes was always felt but up to the year 2000 there was no such Association. In the year 2000, Prof. Jagdish Walawalkar took the lead and arranged a meeting of class owners and discussed the formation of Association of coaching classes' owners. Prof. Jagdish Walawalkar informed to the class owners about an impending ordinance to be promulgated by State Government for regulation and control of coaching classes. The class owners present at the meeting decided to form an association under leadership of Prof. Jagdish Walawalkar.
At present the Association is registered body and has duly elected managing committee. In September- October 2000, an ordinance was issued by the state of Maharashtra, for regulation and control of coaching classes. The ordinance drastic provision which would have rendered it impossible to run a coaching classes in Mumbai.
The Association was formed in year 2000 and writ petition was filed in Mumbai High Court against ordinance. The writ was admitted and the court granted stay for operation of the ordinance. Subsequently the ordinance lapsed and become applicable.

  • The Association has made representation to various Government authorities against levy of service tax on coaching activity.
  • The Association has been very vocal on various matters affecting students and out profession. Within a short span of time the Association has been able to convey to the authorities and press, he ideals for which the Association stands.
  • The Association was first to point out errors in T.Y.B.com. Accountancy Paper I held in 2001. The Association took the matter with the University of Mumbai and ensured that student got a just and fair assessment.
  • The Association has time and again be protesting against Paper leaks and have made various suggestion to authorities to deal with paper leaks.
  • The Association has been regularly holding elections and has been regularly submitting audited accounts to its members.
  • The Association conducts seminars and lectures for guidance to members few of which are mention below.
  • Lecture on Income Tax and Service Tax was conducted in June 2003
  • Seminar on T.Y.B.com. new syllabus was conducted in April 2002
